The R.M. of Frenchman Butte No. 501 held the grand opening of its new municipal office on June 18th, marking an exciting milestone for the municipality. Reeve Tom Hougham delivered the opening remarks for the ceremony, welcoming guests and sharing words on behalf of Council and staff. Special guests Colleen Young, Member of the Legislative Assembly, and Randy Armitage, SARM Division 6 Director, also shared a few words to help celebrate the occasion.
A special part of the day was having Claus Young, a former Council member of 26 years, serve as the official ribbon cutter. Claus remains the longest-serving Council member in the RM’s history, making his involvement especially meaningful to all in attendance.
It was a great day of visiting, celebration, and community connection. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a wonderful lunch and had the opportunity to tour the new office. The RM would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success.
